Swindon Town secured a vital 3-1 away victory over Barnet on Tuesday to boost their League Two campaign. Aaron Drinan was the hero with two goals and an assist as the Robins overturned an early deficit at The Hive. This result, a 3-1 win on Tuesday 20 October, ended a recent run of one win, two draws and two losses in their last five league games.

Barnet took the lead after eight minutes through Mitchell Clark, who was set up by Drinan. The striker then turned scorer himself, netting twice in quick succession on 35 and 37 minutes. Matthew Virtue-Thick and Jack Thomson provided the assists. Kabongo Tshimanga grabbed a late consolation for the hosts in the 90th minute.

The win lifts Swindon Town to 18th in the table with 12 points from 11 games, a welcome boost after a run of form that had seen them win just once in their previous five matches. They now sit 10 points behind leaders Salford City but have closed the gap to the play-off places. Their overall record this season stands at three wins, three draws and five losses, having scored 10 goals and conceded 15.

Drinan's double takes his tally to an impressive 22 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions this season, underlining his importance to the side. The Robins will look to build on this momentum when they travel to face Bristol Rovers this Saturday 24 October. Their next opponents currently sit 9th in the table. This victory follows a 1-1 home draw with Walsall on Saturday 17 October, where Drinan also scored, and prior losses to Crewe and Rochdale.
