Swindon Town's squad availability for the Rotherham United match has been boosted by the return of key players Stephan Negru and Jaylan Pearman. Manager Ian Holloway will be looking to improve on a recent run of form that has seen his side win just one of their last five league matches, a sequence of two wins, two draws, and one loss. The team has scored 15 goals and conceded 17 this season, leaving them with a minus two goal difference and 12 points behind the league leaders. Their recent results include a 2-1 win over Rotherham on 31 October, a 0-0 draw with Bristol Rovers on 24 October, a 3-1 victory at Barnet on 20 October, a 1-1 draw with Walsall on 17 October, and a 1-0 loss to Crewe on 10 October.

Defender Negru and loan attacker Pearman are both back involved, providing Holloway with more options. Their return is timely, as Sam Inwood is set for a long spell on the sidelines after suffering a confirmed Grade 2 hamstring tear, which is expected to keep him out for five to six weeks. This adds to the club's existing injury list.

Pearman, on loan from Queen's Park Rangers, has seen limited action so far, playing 94 minutes of League Two football. Seventy-one per cent of those minutes came in his first two matches after arriving at the County Ground. His potential reintroduction could suit the team's recent tactical shift, which has seen Swindon deploy two narrow attackers off main striker Aaron Drinan in their last three outings.

This formation was used in the previous 0-0 draw with Bristol Rovers, a match affected by illness in the camp. Drinan, the club's top scorer this season with 22 goals in 40 appearances, remains the focal point of the attack. Holloway also confirmed positive news regarding another squad member. "Joel McGregor's in, flying, ready to go, which is really good," the manager said.

Rotherham will also be strengthened, with George Sebine and Lenny Agbaire confirmed to be back in their squad. Peterborough United loanee Klaidi Lolos is also expected to be available despite an injury concern.

Swindon's next challenge after the Rotherham match is a home fixture against sixth-placed Grimsby Town on 14 November.
