Former Swindon Town youth player Christopher Zebroski is due to appear in court this week to face assault charges. The 39-year-old is scheduled at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday to enter pleas to charges of assault by beating and assault causing actual bodily harm.

Both charges relate to an alleged incident on June 24 of this year involving the same victim. Zebroski began his football career in the youth system at the County Ground before embarking on a lengthy non-league career.

Playing career

After leaving Swindon Town, Zebroski played for clubs including Newport County, Eastleigh, and Chippenham Town. He most recently joined Gosport Borough as a player-coach in August, having also had spells with Yate Town, Wantage Town, Melksham Town, Royal Wootton Bassett Town, and Taunton Town.

The news emerges as the current Swindon Town first team prepares for a key League Two fixture. The Robins face a tough test at home to Crewe on Saturday. Zebroski is due to appear in Swindon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
