Swindon Town FC has made a significant step towards inclusivity by opening a sensory room at the Nigel Eady County Ground. This purpose-built space is designed for fans with ADHD and autism, providing a calming environment away from the bustling atmosphere of a football match. The sensory room features football-themed equipment, bubble tubes, sensory lights, and calming sounds, allowing supporters to enjoy the excitement of matchdays at their own pace. Anthony Hall, the club's CEO, expressed pride in this achievement, noting that Swindon Town is one of only three clubs in League Two to offer such a facility. The initiative comes after a year of fundraising and collaboration with club staff, supporters, and local businesses. Lee Cahalin, chair of the Disabled Supporters Association, praised the room, highlighting its positive impact on families with additional needs. For many, like Sara Seager, whose children have autism and ADHD, this new space is a welcome addition that enhances their matchday experience.
