Swindon Town has announced that more than 4,100 season tickets have been sold ahead of the new campaign for the 2026/27 season. This figure is a slight decrease compared to last year when approximately 4,500 season tickets were sold. The club had a steady sales period during the Early Bird discount window, which ended in June, with around 3,600 tickets being sold.
The latest total of season ticket holders falls short of last year’s final tally, which was bolstered by the excitement surrounding Ian Holloway's strong finish to the previous season. Despite this, Swindon Town remains one of the best-supported clubs in League Two, though several rivals have posted higher numbers this year. Grimsby Town has reported sales of around 5,800, Oldham Athletic 5,500, and Port Vale 6,500.
Swindon Town's season ticket price remains a talking point, as it increased by seven percent this summer, making it the most expensive in League Two for the cheapest option. According to The Lower Tiers, Swindon’s cheapest season ticket is tied with Barnet and ranks joint 14th across the entire EFL.
The club hopes that a strong start to the season can win back fans who were undecided on purchasing a season ticket. Last season was the first of Clem Morfuni's era when home attendances were higher than the previous season, rising to 8,434 from 7,275 in the 2024/25 campaign.
Despite this, last year saw the best average away attendance of the Morfuni era. However, it did not translate into strong home support, with only three home attendances exceeding the average from the 2021/22 season. Town brought over 1,000 away supporters to ten of their away matches last season and over 1,500 on four occasions.
The club has seen enthusiasm in other areas, such as the first round of the Carabao Cup, where over 1,000 fans traveled to Cardiff City. A big crowd is also expected at Northampton Town this weekend, with the stand behind the goal having sold out well in advance.
