Swindon Town's former youngster, Lucas Myers, has joined Haverfordwest County, a Europe-chasing club.
What happened?
Myers departed the Nigel Eady County Ground after Swindon Town did not offer professional contracts to any of their second-year scholars.
He was viewed as an exciting goalkeeper prospect and made the bench once for a 0-0 draw with Crewe Alexandra in January 2025. Myers had loan spells with Melksham Town, Swindon Supermarine, and Brislington, giving him plenty of senior experience prior to departing the club.
Why it matters for Swindon Town
The summer's first signing and sale give big clue for this season's plans, with Swindon Town currently standing 9th in England League Two, with 75 pts, 22W-9D-15L from 46 games, and a recent form of LLDLW. Their last result was Swindon Town 1-2 Chesterfield on 2026-05-02.
What comes next?
Myers is part of Haverfordwest's new “hybrid model”, which will see some players training on a full-time basis. | Stat | Value | | --- | --- | | League standing | 9th in England League Two | | Points | 75 | | Recent form | LLDLW |
Haverfordwest have had two European campaigns in the last three seasons, and the club’s move towards having some players training full-time is with an eye on competing further. Myers said: “I’m really excited to have signed for the club with their ambition and where they want to get to.” Manager Tony Pennock said: “Lucas trained with us in April and showed all the attributes we look for in a young footballer.
